When I bought my first 12" single, "Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick" by Ian Durie and the Blockheads, I had no idea that one day I'd own a collection of nearly 10,000 records. While they've survived numerous relocations, a flood, and varying degrees of neglect, they've never been abused and in many cases are in better condition than when I got them. Vinyl may have become a very exotic thing since all things digital have taken over but in my world, vinyl is still king.
The time has come to share the contents of my crates with you and whoever wants to join the party. The base of the collection is soulful House but the influences range from DJs Larry Levan, Tony Humphries, Timmy Regisford, and Merlin Bobb to such Rock greats as the Eagles and Neil Young. Other musical favorites of mine include Harold Melvin and The Blue Notes, Stevie Wonder, Nina Simone, Sarah Vaughn, Talking Heads, Boyd Jarvis, Vinx, Prince, and James Brown. The list is long. I'll also have some French Caribbean delights available for the Compas and Zouk heads among you.
